About 7EQUIS
7EQUIS is a growing video podcast and digital media company producing comedy and entertainment shows across long-form, social, and emerging formats.
We’re looking for a talented Editor who genuinely loves editing, understands comedy, and wants to help us push the quality of our content even further.
This is not strictly a social media editing position. You’ll work across both long-form video podcast episodes and short-form social content, helping shape everything from the pacing and polish of a full episode to a 30-second clip designed to immediately grab someone’s attention.
We’re looking for someone with strong creative instincts, technical ability, and real editorial taste, especially when it comes to comedic timing, pacing, and knowing what makes something funny.
About the Role
As an Editor at 7EQUIS, you’ll work across multiple shows and formats, editing full-length podcast episodes as well as creating short-form content for YouTube Shorts, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms.
A big part of this role is understanding comedy.
Sometimes the funniest edit is a perfectly timed cut. Sometimes it’s holding on to a reaction for two seconds longer. Sometimes it’s a punch-in, a music cue, a graphic, or knowing to leave the moment completely alone.
We want an editor who can recognize those opportunities and make strong creative decisions without over-editing the material.
You should enjoy experimenting, bringing ideas to the table, and finding ways to make already-good content funnier, tighter, more polished, and more engaging.
Responsibilities
Edit full-length video podcasts from raw footage through final delivery.
Create engaging short-form edits for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms.
Identify the funniest, most interesting, and most shareable moments from long-form episodes.
Use editing to enhance comedic timing, pacing, reactions, storytelling, and character dynamics.
Understand when an edit can make a joke better and when getting out of the way is the better choice.
Add graphics, captions, music, sound effects, punch-ins, animations, and other creative elements when they genuinely improve the content.
Work within the established voice and editing style of each show while finding opportunities to evolve and elevate it.
Collaborate with producers, editors, social teams, and other members of the 7EQUIS creative team.
Manage multiple projects, shows, and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
Stay current on comedy, internet culture, editing styles, social trends, memes, and emerging approaches to digital video.
Help develop new editing techniques, workflows, running bits, visual language, and creative ideas across the network.
Qualifications
Professional experience editing video content.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop is required. DaVinci Resolve, or other professional editing software is a plus.
Experience editing long-form content such as video podcasts, interviews, comedy, entertainment, or digital series.
Experience creating short-form social content.
Strong comedy sensibilities and an instinct for comedic timing.
Ability to recognize a great reaction, awkward pause, callback, character moment, or seemingly small beat that can become the funniest part of a scene.
Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual rhythm.
Familiarity with internet culture, memes, online comedy, and the constantly evolving language of social media.
Ability to manage a high volume of content without sacrificing quality.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable receiving notes, collaborating with a team, and contributing your own creative ideas.
Experience creating thumbnails.
Motion graphic experience is a plus.
